EDULAM
Name: The Improvement of the Quality of Education at MVŠO with a view to the needs of the labour market, digitalization and internationalization (Quality Improvement of Education with Regards to Labour Market Requirements, Digitization and Internationalisation)
Time Frame: 1.8.2017-31.7.2020
Registration Number: CZ.02.2.69/0.0/0.0/16_015/0002341
The goal of this project is to improve the quality of education and the employment chances of students in the work force. Within the framework of the redefinition of education, attention will be focused not only on professional knowledge and the content of individual subjects, but above all on the expansion of competencies necessary for success in today´s highly competitive environment, such as the ability to be a team player, communication skills, creativity, flexibility, responsibility and the ability to work with information with a critical eye. Instruction will be increasingly focused on the gaining of practical skills and preparedness for the practical side of life and for an international environment.
A further significant component of the project will be the improvement of the competency of students in the area of work with information and digital technologies, which, at the present time, are very clearly decisive for their chances upon finishing their studies. All of the above-mentioned changes have as their goal to professionally orient baccalaureate studies towards having an interdisciplinary character and to apply this to the conception of instruction and its didactic niveau.
This project reflects the needs of employers and international environment and expand those skills which will be relevant for students when they seek and find work on the job market.

Informational system for the management and administration of commerce in the Forex (Foreign Exchange) environment
Identificational project code: CZ.01.1.02/0.0/0.0/15_019/0004892
On the 1st of January, 2016, the project called „Informational system for the management and administration of commerce in the Forex environment“ went into effect. An application in support of the implementation of this project was submitted on the 21st of January, 2016 for a grant within the framework of the Operational program for Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Competitiveness (OP PIK), the first Challenge – Applications program I. The object of this project is the application of programming tools in the area of artificial intelligence, for example many-layered neuron networks with genetic optimalization and fuzzy-logical models. The development of such an information system is intended to cover all processes of and dealings involved in foreign currency exchange, including administration, controlling and monitoring, realization/implementation and the evaluation of commerce and payments in foreign currency. The result will be unique software applications meant for financial subjects doing business in the area of business done using foreign currency.
SPATIONOMY: the Spatial Exploration of Economic Data: methods of interdisciplinary analytics
Time Frame: 09/2016-08/2019
Identificational project code: 2016-1-CZ01-KA203-024040
The project is called Spatial Exploration of Economic Data: methods of interdisciplinary analytics (Spationomy) within the framework of the Erasmus+ and Strategic partnering programs.
A total of four schools have joined into this three-year-long project (MVŠO, Palacký University in Olomouc, Ruhr-Universität Bochum and the University of Maribor).
The aim of this project is to form a platform for the sharing of knowledge and skills between academic fields (geoinformatics and economics) as well as between various countries (the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany) by means of so-called blended mobility, that is a mixture of physical and virtual mobility.
The main activities of the project are the following mobility exchange programs: Scientific laboratory mobility exchange program (5 days) intended only for members of the project team, then the International Learning Block mobility exchange program (5 days) and Summer School mobility exchange program (7 days), which are designed for students. In all cases it is a matter of the joining of geoinformatics and economics with related disciplines. In addition to the fact that students become specialists in „spatial/geographic economics“, the purpose is also to create methodology and study materials (presentations, videos, tutorials, step-by-step instruction manuals and the like) for the joining of these two fields as well as scientific publications and/or special simulation games at the summer school.
SmartHome
Length of Duration: 1.3.2017 – 29.2.2020
Registration Number: CZ.01.1.02/0.0/0.0/16_084/0009174
The aim of this project is to create, by means of industrial research and experimental development, unique mobile telephone applications and a web portal called the SmartHome Information System, which will cover all processes important for the routine running of everyday life in a household. The created applications will be integrated into models which will be logically organized in such a way as to bring the user the best transparent, simple overview and which is quickly adaptable to new changes on the home front. In this way, a good quality, complex, but easy-to-use tool will come into being. Thanks to this software solution, users will have a better overview over their households and will save time and money, all with the added advantage of being able to do so at a distance via remote control. MVŠO is a cooperator doing its share for this project.
MedDiag
Length of Duration: 1. 1. 2018 – 31. 10. 2020
Registration Number: CZ.01.1.02/0.0/0.0/17_107/0012488
The aim of this project is to, by means of industrial research and experimental development, bring into being a software tool intended for the creation and analysis of ultrasound B-images, which is a standard mode in ultrasound imaging. Software research and development will concentrate on its possible use in neurology in the diagnosis of the symptoms of Parkinson´s disease. The outcome of the project will be, therefore, the creation of such a tool with which it will be possible, thanks to binary threshold values, find symptoms of echogenicity in the area of the sentinel lymph nodes. The application will be based on an algorithm, the basic principle of which is the usage of binary threshold values in gray-scale images. The computer support of the analysis of the symptoms of Parkinson´s disease makes diagnostics more precise and as a result can help to optimize treatment. MVŠO is a cooperator in this project, whose concrete role will be mainly in the working out of decision-making models.
Support for the Development of the Study Environment at MVŠO
Length of Duration: 01.04.2018-31.12.2018
Registration Number: CZ.02.2.67/0.0/0.0/17_044/0008533
The aim of the project is to heighten the quality of education by means of modernization and digitalization of the educational process. The project is connected to the currently ongoing activity of ESF (European Structural Fund) within the framework of the operational program for research, development and education (OP VVV), the object of which is a complex redefinition of the baccalaureate study program Economics and Management. Within the framework of the project, with the goal of improving the quality of instruction, a modernization of the computer rooms will be conducted and informational resources will be purchased in such a way as to reflect the needs of the subjects in which the innovations are to be carried out. Careful attentionwill also be paid to selecting new technological equipment with a view to the most modern trends.
