Department Manager, academic staff and senior lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics
Veronika Říhová comes from the small town of Rýmařov where she completed a seven-year-long grammar school focused on natural sciences. She chose the Faculty of Science of Palacky University in Olomouc for her university studies where she finished a Master´s program with a dual major in Mathematics and Physics in 2004. Then, she earned another Master´s degree in 2007 by studying program Mathematics and Economics with focus on Banking at the same faculty. In 2006, she began her doctoral studies at the Department of Experimental Physics with a specialization in the Didactics of Physics, at the end of which, in 2013, she received the Ph.D. title. Furthermore, between the years 2012 and 2014, she continued her education as an academic scholar in the so-called „Study program for leading pedagogical staff“ at the Faculty of Education of Palacky University in Olomouc.
In the years 2009 – 2012, she was the chief coordinator of a partner in the project called „Modern ICT means in the fields of natural science and economics and their presentation (ICTEDUCA)“ and she played the same role in the years 2012 – 2015 in the project called „A modern approach to the application of mathematical skills in the fields of natural science and economics (MATHSCIENCE)“. Both projects were funded by European Social Funds. In addition to her work activities, she is also an active dancer of both ballroom and Latin-American dances; together with her partner they teach ballroom dance at Moravian Business College Olomouc.
