Michal Menšík focuses on the field of managerial accounting, in which he also defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Economics in Prague. He worked in the non-profit sector for several years. After that he worked as a consultant for firms from abroad. These days, his expertise focuses not only on using mathematical models in the area of managerial accounting, but also non-traditional methods of teaching managerial and financial accounting, and the measurement and management of the performance of small and medium-sized businesses. Michal Menšík has been active abroad. During his doctoral studies, he had an internship at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business (RICE University in Houston, Texas). After completing his doctorate, he also had short internships or training stays at the University of Oxford and DUKE – NUS in Singapore. Doctor Menšík gives presentations at conferences abroad and, since 2009, he has also been a regular guest at European universities (Maribor in Slovenia; Siedlice in Poland; Nordhausen, Villingen-Schwenningen, and Bochum in Germany) where he leads courses on the performance measurement and management. Michal Menšík has been married since 2007, he has three children and is a sport shooter.
